Monday Must Haves #7

Yesterday was a totally exhausting day for me; I'd just come off of a 5-day stint at work which, in itself doesn't sound tough, but they were 5 really hard, really long days.  So last night, instead of settling down in front of my computer to write my blog, I talked to my boy and went to bed!  

In honour of the fabulous weather we've been having in the south of England (is there a sarcasm font yet?) I've dedicated today's "Monday" Must Haves to rain, glorious rain!

♥ I've been looking for a place to live with my boy when he comes over later this year *squee!* and been thinking about the little ways we'll make our house a home - I love little touches like cute coasters and table mats, they really make a difference and bring a little life to a room.  These coasters with pretty wellies on are lovely and I heart that they're 'fancy coasters for fancy people' (^_^)

♥ Always on the lookout for lovely silver pieces, this little cloud is just *so* pretty and I think would be a really unique talking point too!  I'd love to wear this on rainy days to remind myself that it's not all doom and gloom, clouds are indeed very swirly and nice!

♥ I genuinely love everything about this piece; from my newly-discovered love of bird illustrations to the recycling of old, unused books to create new, beautiful prints that people will treasure.  It really speaks to me!  I'd love to hang this on a wall somewhere that everyone who walked into my home would see it.  It's gorgeous and going straight on my wishlist.

♥ Not so much to do with rain, however extremely pertinent to today - I *finally* had my tooth pulled!  I'd like to say it was smooth sailing but that tooth was a little pest to get out - it didn't want to leave and it was freakin' huge, even the dentist was surprise at how big it was!  So now I'm slightly gappy *sad* but yay for not having to deal with horrible toothache any more!

Hope you're all having a killer Tuesday!  My evening is all about taking it easy, which means sitting with my feet up and eating delicious food (fish pie, om nom nom!) Then it's back to work tomorrow until Saturday when I can finally have a lie-in!  Roll on the weekend!

Monday Must Haves #4

Spring is officially here!  Woo!  The cherry blossoms are falling from the trees, dandelion seeds are floating through the air and the sun is out and about in the sky, making everything wonderfully warm (^_^) I'm so glad the winter is behind us now, wow did it feel like a long one! This week I'm celebrating springtime and lusting after everything that screams of the season!

♥ These are *gorgeous*!  I love everything about them, they're so striking and interesting to look at and in such lovely, springtime colours.  I'd love to display these in a window or on a mantle.  Wouldn't it be lovely to have one for every season?

♥ This made me melt with cuteness when I saw it.  What pretty colours!  It's so simple, yet with the layering looks wonderfully complex.  And the flower is detachable too, so you can wear it as a headband or just as a clip by itself.  Genius!

♥ Cutest watercolour *ever*!  Each tiny picture is completely unique, how awesome is that?  Walking around with your own original piece of art around your neck.  The warm tones of the flowers and the brass make me feel like warm spring days and meadows full of wildflowers.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  Mine was lovely, spending time with my family, eating cakes and chocolate and trifle and tucking into a delicious roast dinner before hanging out and watching 'Inception'.  Although my tooth has been bugging me again *sigh* when will it end?  Fingers crossed this doesn't happen when I'm on holiday!  Have a great week guys!

Ta-Da!

I decided a change of layout would be a nice idea today (^_^) I've been thinking about it for a while - I wanted something that would give me some more space for pictures and words as well as injecting a little more colour.  I think this is just right for now (^_^) I see other blogs all the time and am just a tad envious of how pretty and awesome they look.  I know I'll figure my blog out one day and get it just right and how I want it but of course that takes time (and potentially some money too!) so for now I'm content to go with the flow and just jazz up my blog a little bit at a time!

It's been a busy week for me, what with working and going to the dentist.  I've been given antibiotics and am heading back on May 24th to have my tooth pulled *sad face* I'll miss it but I'll be glad to be free of the pain of it!  I was lucky to have today off from work, so I headed into town and picked up a few bits and pieces - some dry shampoo (whoever invented this needs a medal, it has been my saviour on *so* many occasions), a bright pink nail polish (to match the gorgeous dress I bought during the week), some awesome raspberry-coloured tights that were in the sale and called my name as I walked past and a cute little lip-tint pen in a blushy-rose colour.  Awesome haul (^_^)

I'm really excited to be getting a haircut on Wednesday!  I haven't had my hair cut properly in *years*, due to general poorness/laziness/my Mum being quite good at trimming.  But, since I'm going away on holiday soon I thought I'd get it cut nicely and booked my appointment for 10am on Wednesday, yay!  Will post some before and afters so you can tell me what you think (^_^)

I've been working on a couple of creative projects recently - they're mostly in the sketching/planning stages at the moment but I'm slowly working forward when I get the time to (my time management is still sucking since I've got really weird hours at work) and I'm really excited to show them to you - I've got a lot of pictures to take and post, haven't I!

I'll leave it there for now - this post was just a little update to say I haven't disappeared completely and to ask what you think of the new layout!  Hope you're all having an awesome-sauce weekend!

♥ I desperately need some Sharpies.  They come in every colour under the sun, I hear people raving about them all the time and I am sorely lacking some gorgeous pens.  Pencils I have, but pens...I hear the Sharpies calling to me...

♥ I'm still loving long this week and this maxi dress is gorgeous.  I have a huge soft spot for the colour purple as it is (could you guess?) so this ticks all the boxes for me - long, floaty, summery and super pretty.

♥ I'd love to have a beautiful book like this to put all my little notes and ideas in.  I love dragonflies, especially since they are one of the symbols associated with my favourite band (*so* getting a dragonfly tattooed on me one of these days) This book looks like it would be full of interesting and beautiful things - love it!

I'm feeling creative today - could you tell from what I picked? (^_^) My boy and I celebrated our 11 month anniversary today, woo!  Go us!  Tomorrow, it'll be three weeks until I get to see him again!  Three whole weeks!  I hope the time absolutely flies so I can see him as soon as possible (^_^) Ooh, I got an 'emergency appointment' at the dentist - I was told the first appointment was mid-May (when I'm not even in the country) but I told the very nice lady on the phone that my tooth was really bad and I really needed it looked at so she slotted me in on Thursday!  Thank you lovely receptionist lady!  I'm hoping this is the first step to pain-free teeth!  Hope you're all having a cracking Monday, full of creativity, fun and general awesomeness (^_^)

 I wish my teeth were as awesome and cute as that pretty pendant but they're not.  In fact, one of the little blighters is absolutely killing me *sad face* and it has been all weekend!

Way back when, I had to have a deep filling in one of my teeth (by a dentist I hated and who didn't like me very much either) and subsequently, due to some root damage because of the filling, I've now got an abscess under that tooth.  Most of the time, it's okay - it doesn't hurt me, it's just normal like any other tooth and I go on my merry way through life without a care in the world.  But sometimes, only sometimes, it decides that it's going to cause havoc in my quiet little life and submit me to 3-5 days of pain, unattractive face swelling and general misery. 

So, the last two days I've been knocking back painkillers and anti-inflammatories and been pressing a heat pad against my sore, swollen face.  And for the last two days I've been in the process of making, for me, a difficult decision.  And I've decided - I'm going to have the tooth pulled out.

This might not seem like a huge deal and, probably, the obvious choice since the very beginning.  But I'm extremely anti-dentist, the thought of going freaks me out and, foolishly, I'm one of those people who'd rather deal with a few days of discomfort than actually get the problem sorted.  That and the thought of having a tooth gap at the ripe old age of 22 doesn't seem all that appealing to me.  But enough is enough.  I had toothache when I visited my boy last year and it ruined a couple of days that we had together because I was so miserable (including the day his parents took us out for a lovely meal, very bad timing) and I don't want that to happen again this time around.  Not to mention I don't deserve this pain, I've lived with it long enough and it's high time it was gone out of my life.  So tomorrow, when I get home from work (I'm on a 6:30am-3pm shift tomorrow - HELP) I am calling the dentist and booking in an appointment to have this tooth pulled out.  No more pain, no more swollen face.  Awesome sauce (^_^) Hope you guys are having a wonderful, pain-free weekend!
